Kondayagenbei   double-woven obi (fukuro obi)  This double-woven obi is created by Kondayagenbei which is a wholesale store that runs over 270 years. When we talk about Kondayagenbei, it can be described all by Genbei Yamaguchi X who has created many original works. He has decided to be a wholesale dealer who believes what he imagined, he uses Japanese traditional kimono culture today, keeps revolutionary challenging for future development, and puts his heart into creating new values of obi. He is thorough about simple and honest manufacturing and keeps seeking the real techniques and materials that have been neglected because of cost and rationality of production.
Kondayagenbei   double-woven obi (fukuro obi)  This cherry blossoms obi is created by Kondayagenbei. It is inspired by Shiko Mikuma’s cherry blossoms works. Shiko Mikuma was an artist who used only cherry blossoms for his work concept. He concentrated to distinguish about different types of cherry blossoms and created cherry blossoms world that there were no other things on the same painting. This obi has depth and expresses Shiko Mikuma’s thinness of translucent-look cherry blossoms petals and softness by a weave.
Kondayagenbei   double-woven obi (fukuro obi)  Even though this obi gives feeling of weight and thickness, it is vey easy to use since it is woven by very thin and light technique called shahaku. If you look from inside, you can see how it is translucent.
