Tricolor vertical tie-dyed Komon

Tricolor vertical tie-dyed Komon We created a tricolor vertical ombre dyed kimono before, and it turned out very chic and modern kimono. We had an idea that we wanted to create another chic kimono with tie-dyed method. That was how we started to create this one.
We selected a sanjyu-ori texture which sterically stands out the background design. In general, it is time consuming and difficult process to tie-dye approximately 10 meters texture vertically. In addition to that, the sanjyu-ori texture is very smooth but also thick, so we discussed over and over about colors that we wanted and the balance of those colors. We decided a predominant color as green and selected three colors.
Tricolor vertical tie-dyed Komon By choosing the sanjyu-ori and tie-dyeing in three colors, it didn’t become a simple striped pattern. However, it was lacking “Kimono Haku’s originality” so we decided to use gold leaves. We considered various designs and decided to use a arabesque pattern. For the size, we used both large and small designs and put them only right places so that it would come out beautifully by tailoring. We also carefully selected the gold leaves. We tried several patterns of gold leaves on the tie-dyed texture, and selected the elegant gold leaves which was not too distinct and also not losing against the background color.
Tricolor vertical tie-dyed Komon It is great for a lined kimono that it is worn between end of autumn to winter. Of course, you can wear in the beginning of autumn or spring by matching obi’s color. If you want a bold coat, it is also great to tailor as a coat. Please enjoy it with your style.
