Ichimatsu Nagajuban (Checkerboard pattern full-length under-kimono)

Ichimatsu Nagajuban (Checkerboard pattern full-length under-kimono) It had started to have an artisan weave our original full-length under-kimono’s(juban) texture. We tried many juban textures, compared their feelings and finally decided a white texture which was 13.5 meters and 580 grams. It was sometimes said it would be too heavy for juban. The reason why we chose this one was the heavy one was scoured sufficiently, so comfortableness and touch turned better. Of course it would be problem if it was too heavy to wear it, we also considered the balance of weight and comfortableness.
There were many three rows of a checkerboard pattern’s one (called mikama), but this was woven four rows (called yokama).
By changing how to weave one after the other, the checkerboard pattern appeared clearly.
Ichimatsu Nagajuban (Checkerboard pattern full-length under-kimono) As the next step, we ordered to dye the texture’s four rows of the checkerboard pattern as one checkerboard pattern. The artisan dyed it one by one with a brash. By this technique, the soft and kind checkerboard pattern were piled up on the clear-cut checkerboard pattern’s texture.
We also considered a balance of two colors. It could be a light color for formal, it could be a clear color for casual, or it could be an easy to use color for beginners. After considering many color samples, we created a juban that many people could wear for any occasion.
Ichimatsu Nagajuban (Checkerboard pattern full-length under-kimono) A juban is an undershirt in clothes, therefore we are particular about the texture since it directly touch your skin.
It is very beautiful that this silk’s flowing vertical line. You can also use as a bathrobe or an undershirt in clothes.
